Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, used three popular Hindi idioms to hit out at the government and slams the raids against those who are pro-farmers.
A day after income-tax raids at the homes and offices of Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and others, Wayanad MP took to his official Twitter account and said, “Some idioms: Ungaliyon par nachaana’ (central government does this with IT Dept-ED-CBI [Income Tax Department-Enforcement Directorate-Central Bureau of Investigation]), ‘Bheegee billee banana’ (friendly media in front of the central government), ‘Khisiyaanee billee khamba noche’ (like the central government raids the supporters of farmers).”
Mr. Gandhi’s tweet came a day after the I-T Department searched the properties of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actor Taapsee Pannu.
Both Anurag and Taapsee have been vocal about their political opinions, mostly against the government.
