India recorded 6,822 new coronavirus infections the lowest in 558 days, taking the country’s total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,46,48,383, while Covid-19 death toll also climbed to 4,73,757 with 220 deaths in last 24 hours. The Case fetality rate currently stands at 1.37 per cent.
Moreover, two cases of Covid-19 Omicron variant was reported in Mumbai on Monday, taking India’s total tally of the new coronavirus variant to 23.
India’s active caseload decreased by 3,402 in last 24 hours to stand at 95,014, which now comprises 0.27 per cent of the total caseload.
National coronavirus recovery rate currently stands at 98.36 per cent, with 10,004 patients recovering in last 24 hours. 3,40,79,612 patients have recovered from the infections so far across the country.
With 10,79,384 Covid test done during the previous day, the daily positivity rate stood at 0.63 per cent, while weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.78 per cent.
64.94 crore total tests has been conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country.
Meanwhile, 128.76 crore vaccine Doses have been administered so far in the country under Nationwide Vaccination Drive, with 79,39,038 vaccine doses administered yesterday.
National Capital Delhi reported 40 fresh cases of COVID-19 and one death on Monday. There are 344 active cases of coronavirus in the city.
