The search engine giant Google is celebrating Father’s Day today with an animated doodle. There is a play button on the Google Doodle and once you click on it, two cards pop up with heart emoticons. The stop-motion artwork in today’s special graphic is by doodler Olivia When.
In most parts across the world, including US and India, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June, but countries like Spain and Portugal traditionally celebrate it on March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph. Taiwan celebrates it on August 8, Thailand on December 5, and Russia on February 23. This year, the date being June 20.
“Today’s Doodle is popping up to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day!,” said Google Doodle.
Today, on June 20, Father’s Day 2021 is being celebrated all over the world. The doodle that Google published on Father’s Day shows the feeling of love, affection and respect for the father. The search engine Google makes doodles on every special occasion.
Just as Mother’s Day is dedicated to mothers, Father’s Day recognises the contribution of fathers or father-figures in raising children and the role that they play in our lives. To make this day special for the father, children, ususally, present gifts such as greeting cards, shirts and mugs to their fathers to celebrate the occasion. Similarly, the search engine Google is also celebrating Father’s Day 2021 in a special way through a video.
Father’s Day was celebrated for the first time in 1910 in Washington. It was started by Sonora Dodd, a girl living in the city of Spokane, Washington.
