The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), on Friday, named 33 people, including actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, in a 11,700-page chargesheet before a special court in Mumbai under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with the drug case that the agency probed in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The document has statements recorded of more than 200 witnesses. NCB sources told news agency PTI, the chargesheet accuses Rhea Chakraborty of being part of a “drug syndicate” and claims she was part of a conspiracy to procure and supply drugs.
Among those named in the chargesheet include former executive producer of Dharmatic Entertainment, Kshitij Prasad; Deepesh Sawant, a member of Sushant Singh’s domestic staff; suspected drug dealers Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar and Samuel Mirnada.
According to the sources in the NCB, the chargesheet details how various drugs including synthetic narcotic substances were being procured at the highest level and then distributed across Mumbai through various hands.
